Great video! I marched with Guardsmen 1975 and 1976. Guardsmen made finals in Philly 1976, so I was on the field for the scores. Blue Devils first DCI title! Styles and rules change, but the great effort by all is the same in every decade. I slept on many gym floors and squeezed my 6'1" frame into those bus seats. Thank you for all the years of great drum corps! I saw Blast live a good example.❤🎉😊

Just after Phantom finished their performance, someone in the row behind us answered a cell phone call and when asked what they were doing, this individual said, "We just had an orgasm with Phantom Regiment." More true words have never been spoken, and it's a moment I'll likely never forget.

This was an absolute gem of a show. One of my top 5 ALL TIME GREATS! I have always found it difficult to judge shows from different decades because I try to be fair to each decade in terms of what was allowed, what the style was, where the activity was at that given time, etc. But this show is timeless. Once Phantom put the new ending in with the DM being slayed during the revolt the show took on even greater impact. Phantom Regiment 2008 and their Spartacus production will forever live as one of the great, almost perfect shows of its time and perhaps one of the greatest of any decade. Truly a TIMELESS CLASSIC!

Man I remember this night so vividly. I was marching Pacific Crest this season and after eating at the diner there me and several of my corpsmates were in the stands around the side 1 30. Watching the A. DM running with the spear was heart racing to say the least. When he delivered the blow we, like most of the audience were in disbelief. We didn't think it was real for the longest few seconds and then it clicked. We didn't want to miss anything so standing and clapping until it was over was the best thing we could've done. By finals....well....we all know how that crowd reaction was. What a crazy thing to be able to witness in my life

What a difference a few changes make! The addition of the drum major death totally changed the overall effect of the program. All of the pieces of a championship show are there, but specifically the closer and the pre-show felt almost anti-climactic compared to what it ended up being. Might just be hindsight. Awesome view!
